HTS SCANNER

Built for importers and customs teams

AI customs classification, in minutes.

Photograph an item with your phone. HTS Scanner identifies it, asks the right follow-up questions, and proposes Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes with confidence scores and direct links to the official US tariff schedule. Faster and cheaper than calling a broker for every line item.

How it works

From photo to filing-ready code.

Three steps, usually under five minutes. Every result includes the reasoning, the sources, and a clear confidence score so you know when to verify with a broker.

  1. Photograph the item

Snap a clear photo with labels, materials, and accessories visible. The AI handles partial views and unclear angles, and asks for another angle when it needs one.

  2. Answer three to six questions

The model asks narrowing questions about use, composition, and construction — the same questions a licensed broker would ask before classifying.

  3. Review, verify, save

Get up to three candidate codes with confidence scores, full reasoning, and links to USITC and CBP CROSS rulings. Save to your team workspace.

What you get

Designed for people who file entries.

  • Up to three candidate codes

Every classification returns ranked alternatives with confidence scores so you can see when the model is sure and when it is not.

  • Full chain-of-reasoning

The model shows you why it landed on a code — the section, chapter, heading, and subheading logic — so a broker can verify in seconds.

  • Direct links to USITC and CROSS

Every result links to the official US Harmonized Tariff Schedule and, when relevant, to CBP CROSS rulings cited by the model.

  • Team workspaces

Invite teammates, share classification history, and keep PO numbers and shipment IDs alongside each entry.

  • Edit history

Every change to a saved code is recorded with timestamp and prior value — useful for audit prep and prior disclosures.

  • Private by default

Photos and chats are processed for your classification only, never used to train third-party AI models, never sold, never shared with advertisers.

Who it's for

Built for the people who classify, every day.

Small importers
Replace $30–$80 broker calls for routine line items. Use a broker for the cases that matter.
Ecommerce sellers
Classify dozens of SKUs an hour from product photos before submitting to your fulfilment partner.
Customs operations teams
Share a workspace, divide queues, and pre-classify shipments so brokers can confirm rather than start from scratch.
Trade compliance professionals
Use HTS Scanner as a research assistant alongside CROSS, the HTS, and your existing tools — not a replacement for them.

Frequently asked

Quick answers.

Is HTS Scanner a licensed customs broker?
No. HTS Scanner is software that produces AI-generated suggestions. Always confirm a code with a licensed customs broker before filing an entry.
How accurate is the AI?
Every classification ships with a confidence score, the model’s reasoning, and links to the official tariff schedule so you can verify. AI models make mistakes — the workflow is designed around that.
How does billing work?
Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. The first classification on each account is free. After that you can subscribe weekly or annually.
Are my photos and data private?
Photos and conversation messages are processed by Google Gemini for the classification you ask for. They are never used for advertising, never sold, and never used to train third-party AI models.

An advisory tool. Not a customs broker.

HTS Scanner is software that helps you research likely classifications. It is not a licensed customs broker and its output is not legal, tax, or customs advice. Every classification includes confidence scores, the model's reasoning, and links to the official US Harmonized Tariff Schedule and CBP rulings so you can verify before you file.
